Hi, my name is Rusty Gilbert. My wife Christy and I are the owners of Dirty South Cornhole. We were born and raised in the River City (Richmond, VA) where we still reside today. Christy and I grew up playing competitive sports and live a very active lifestyle. We enjoy camping, playing in cornhole tournaments, golf, working out, kayaking, playing with our rescue pitty Leroy Jenkins and socializing with our friends, especially over a cold beer!
My first introduction to cornhole was in 2014. A friend of mine asked me to play as his partner in a weekly tournament. I had no idea how serious the competition would be. Needless to say, I did not win a game but I immediately fell in love with cornhole. Soon after I built my first set of boards and started hosting backyard tournaments with friends and family. It didn’t take long for them to start asking me to build sets for them. I really enjoy building things so I was happy to do it.
We believe our tournament series board, designed with ¾” tops that have rounded edges, frames made with double bracing and airmail braces between the legs all made from premium Baltic Birch Plywood is as good or better than any product on the market including the boards used on TV in tournaments. Our goal at DirtySouthCornhole is to provide each of our customers with the best cornhole board possible.
